Swim at resort Atthowe
39 degree day today and we have escaped to the salvation of our friends air conned home which also comes with a pool thank you.Was a welcome relief being cool as yesterday and last night were pretty draining and sleep was pretty much hit and miss. More miss than hit, especially with the fan being blocked by the bigger body!
We were treated to home made ice cream with Crunchie through it?? Was yum and it can be seen that even the kids couldn't get enough. Stick your tongue right in and see if you can get it stuck :)
Topped the afternoon off reminiscing over the movie Pretty in Pink. Did you know John Cryer (2 1/2 men was a major player in this flick!) Great soundtrack.
Did eventually make it home, much to the dog's relief. He was waiting for us with his head hanging out the gate. His duck got a good working over as he came in to greet us!

HOT HOT HOT
It reached a fine 40 degrees here in Perth today and no air con in sight! A stinker would be an understatement, but with things to do we couldn't let it stop us. Paul has already packed away the Xmas lights for another year. I keep telling him we will need more next year but he doesn't seem too keen. Not sure why?? :)
After our morning round home we were off to collect Tina and head to Ben's for a post-Christmas catch up. Thought it would be a quite hello, but as usual it is grand central station with all the wogs showing up! Man they know how to do a gathering. We made a quick escape before the lunch rush.
Came home for a quiet bite and then off to a funeral for a work colleague. We started the year with a funeral and finished it with one too. 3 to attend this year and that was more than enough.
Home to a warm house and back to sorting this blog out with some tweaking. Still working out what I can do with it, so hence a rambling post today . I am sure you are bored stiff and hoping that it will be somewhat more entertaining. I am working on it LOL :)
Now back to slothing in front of the fan. Shed could look good for tonight.

My first Blog post
So I have to work out this blogging thing before we head off on our awesome and mammothly exciting adventure. I am sure it will take a few posts to get use to and discover all that this can do and display etc. Please let me know if you want to be able to see anything in particular on my blog, particularly when the trip comes round :)
Tonight I booked a flight from New York to Boston. Cost us $5 bonus! The QANTAS mob can do right by their customers. Let's hope it stays that way as we use them and their affiliates numerous times in 2012.
Our holidays have started already even tho we have not traveled abroad. We have decided to pretend to be tourists around our own city for the next few months. It was kicked off today with a trip to the beach with the dog. The water was the proverbial "Flat as a pancake" and a "Picture perfect" azure blue. We do live in a beautiful city. We caught the train to Fremantle this arvo. Spending it with 6 noisy teenage skater boys was NOT a highlight, but the wander amongst the hustle and bustle of the markets was. I love the smells, trinkets and uniqueness of the Freo market. We capped it off with a cider at the Newport. Awesome.
Now kicking back listening to the water feature trickling away in the back yard and thinking about adventures to come.
Enjoy the balmy night :)
