Day 97

0 to go

And just like that here we are. I am sitting in my seat in row 69 on our Singapore Air flight. It’s 7.20am. Our alarms began blaring at 3.50am. It already seems like a life time ago.

It didn’t take long for us to be out of bed, dressed and waiting outside for our car to arrive at 4.15am. With it being so early, there was no traffic about and we were at Terminal 3, by 4.35am. We did the bag tags and bag drop, then moved through the passport control and into the terminal. We wandered passed the closed stores, too early for most to be open. Paul did his shop for duty free alcohol and then we went in search of breakfast. We eventually settled on a coffee shop for a hot chocolate and chia pudding for breakfast.

With that done, we found the gate,  it weren’t allowed in until 6.35am. We passed through the security check and then sat with all the other passengers, waiting for boarding to be called. 7am came and we finally made it on board.

We haven’t left yet, it’s 7.45am. Apparently the backlog of flights continues and they needed to wait for delayed flights to arrive, so other passengers could join us. I got straight into the entertainment, choosing to watch the Bike Riders.

7.50am we were finally ready to move, we were pushed back and then travelled the tarmac to the runway, finally reaching lift off by 8.10pm. Next stop…home.

It’s now 4pm, we have been in the house for a couple of hours and all signs of travel have been packed away or are being washed. The yard is overgrown, the house needs a clean and life back home has suddenly hit hard. We have had an amazing, wonderful, memorable, exciting, fabulous, terrific time over the past three months. We now have time to process the special moments, those that made us laugh, cry and and go wow! Those moments will stay with us forever. And finally a night in our own bed :)
