Day 314 - Wednesday 8 November - Lovely in Lakes Entrance

Day 313–
Wednesday
8 November

Lakes Entrance

Blue sky everywhere greeted us when we woke this morning. It was too good to waste, so we were up at 8am and into morning routines. We took advantage of the glorious weather by running a couple of loads through the washing machine.
At 9.15am we packed Paul’s golf clubs in the car and drove out to Lakes Entrance Golf Club, where we had played last time we were in town. Unfortunately there was a morning comp on, so everything went back in the car and we returned home.
Not wanting to waste the morning weather, we took off towards the main centre of town, walking the lakes edge before crossing over the bridge towards the main beach. Thankfully it is a concrete path all the way to the crest, so we didn’t have to kick off the shoes, standing at the top admiring the view.
We returned over the bridge and then continued following the lakeside path along areas we hadn’t walked last time.
When we reached a junction, we headed back into the suburb and meandered our way along the streets, following our nose until we reached familiar landmarks and returned home an hour and a half later, a good start to the day.
Once back, I brought in some of the washing that was dry and we hung out in the van. Paul read while I went through the small number of photos I had taken during the past two days. I then settled in to watch an episode of PLL. I am trying to chew through this final season, to put this story to bed.
We had our lunch and then just after 1pm, we returned to the golf course in the hope we would get a round in, thankfully the cop was just finishing and we had our pick of starting with hole 1 or 10, we opted for 10, as it wasn’t what we had played last time.
It was lovely being outside, with the weather turning it on for us, making the walk all the more enjoyable. We wandered the various holes, amusing ourselves at one. Paul teed up, swung and the tee flew away, the ball on the other hand stayed put, just like pulling the tablecloth from the table and leaving the cutlery. We still don’t know how he did it.
Paul’s round was full of the usual ups and downs, but overall it was a good game, finishing up at 3.15pm and making our way back to the van. We sat about playing cards for a while, but the late afternoon sun beckoned and we made our way out for a walk along the arms of the Cunninghame Lake making the most of the time we had left here in Lakes Entrance.
Once we completed our lap, we got stuck in to throwing dinner together, eating and then retiring. I did some net research for our train ride on Saturday into Melbourne and just surfed around other bits and pieces, keeping myself amused as the sun began to drop away. We ended up bringing our the cards and having a game before eventually retiring once again.
