Day 318 - 12 November - last day in Dalyston

Day 318
Sunday 12 November – Wildcats 82 v NZ 88

Dalyston

Thank goodness we didn’t have anywhere to be this morning and we could stay in bed as long as we wanted. I stayed put for as long as my bladder would allow it and then got out. Paul followed and by that stage we were up.
We had breakfast and then I started on yesterday’s blog before Paul, took over to write his beer reviews and I did some arranging of some clothes, squeezing things in to tight places.
I walked a couple of laps of the oval before Paul suggested we head to Kilcunda for a wander along the cliff track, so we locked up the van and drove 10 min down the road. We parked in the large sandy carpark and set out along the rail trail. The Victorian weather was just divine, completely different to when we were here last time. The after was so blue and felt like we could see all the way to Tasmania.
We followed the route that ran parallel to the coast, checking out the surfers and the fishermen as we walked,  there were so many out enjoying the glorious day. We continued to follow the path to intersecting road before returning to the car park and back to the the van.
I was starving, so I made myself lunch, while Paul finished his second review. Just as I sat down to ate, Mum rang so I chatted to her and Dad, finding out the latest. I then settled into watch a few more episodes of PLL as I also worked on the blog.
3 episodes in and I needed a good stretch out and a walk, so we decided to follow the trail through the farmers’ fields to the river. When we arrived at the bridge, there was a family setting up to fish. We looked into the water from above and saw dozens of fish hiding among the old pylons, some were quite a good size too.
We then meandered our way back along the gravel road to the highway before making it back into the rec ground. Once in, I was on to the net surfing breweries for Paul to visit over the next couple of weeks, finding addresses and opening times for their cellar doors.
Time began to slip away and we had to get dinner sorted. We actually managed to clear out our fridge and freezer of all fresh and frozen goods, so we will be able to do a complete shop for all new foods.
A short while later, we drove into Wonthaggi so that we could watch the Wildcats take on the Breakers. We found bar stools to sit at and watch the one of the tvs above the bar. The game was tight, with neither team making headway, the cats being up by 2 at the half.
For the second half, we were able to have the large tv switched to Fox3 and we made ourselves comfy in the lounge chairs, happy we now had volume as well.
The third quarter followed the first half play book, but it was unfortunate to see it fall apart in the fourth, eventually loosing by 6 and leaving us quite annoyed with the state of play. The Wildcats have some work to do.
We returned to the van just after 9pm, happy to jump straight into bed and read before ending the day.
