DAY 13
TUESDAY
10 January 2017 –
Denmark
Feeling a little tender still, it was going to be another
quiet one for us. With the usual routine
done we did a wander to Poison Point with the dog, making it as far as the
rambling blackberry bush, where Paul ensured he got his fill.
Once home we decided to go for a drive, stopping first at
the bakery for a spinach and feta pastie and then on to Ocean Beach. The
weather was delightful by the water. We could tell many tourists had already
headed home, as it was considerably quieter.
There are a number of lookouts along this drive, so we
stopped at a couple to take in the view and to eat our lunch, Yogi drooling at
our feet. He was feeling the heat and
glad to crawl back into the car and head first to the shop and then home again.
Dad was off to golf, but the time we got back. I cooked up a turkey toast to pack up with us
and did a few things on the computer, before heading for a nap. LAZY DAYS. Ahhhh…
The late afternoon brought in the birds. A hive of activity and chirping as the blue
Fairy Wrens came in for their feed. They flit about the various plants before
coming in to take the oats and coconut Dad offers from his hand. Meanwhile the Fire Tail Finches and Rosella’s
wait patiently for their feed, not from the hand, but placed around the garden.
Dinner was enjoyed early so I could go and take some photos
at William Bay. Elephant Rocks is a popular spot for tourists next to Greens
Pool. It was much more peaceful here this evening than when we were here last
week.
While I enjoy taking the photos, I also enjoy just taking
the time to take in the view. The waves were fierce, crashing and unrelenting
as they roared towards shore, finding beacons of large granite rock to send up
white spray.
We watched the sky change colours from blue to yellow,
orange and red before settling on purple. The mozzies began buzzing and this
was our call to head back. We decided to go via our look out on Panorama Road.
If we could, we would buy a block here. The lack of light prevented us really
enjoying the view it usually offers. Time to head home.
