DAY 14
WEDNESDAY
11 January 2017 –
Denmark - Albany
Time waits for no one and nor does sunrise and as I had said
to Paul yesterday that I would like to capture a sunrise of Ocean Beach from
Lions Lookout he had me out and in the car by 550am. It was worth being up, but
really probably needed to be there about an hour earlier. Never mind.
We were back home by 630, with Mum and Dad none the wiser we
had been out. As we were now awake we figured we may as well have brecky and
take the dog for a walk. We wound our
way down Inlet drive and then onto another part of the Bibbulmun Track, which
then became a railway scenic walk. It was rather lovely being out at this time
amongst the wildlife and fauna.
The track eventually spat us out at Ocean Beach Road, not
where we were expecting at all. I needed to check my phone to make sure we got
back home in the quickest way possible.
We did manage it.
Dad was off to the Doc, so I had to take mum to meet her
bowls mates at the Denmark Riverside Club. She will be playing in Hopetoun for
the next couple of days. It was a quick farewell and a sign of more to come. I
am not looking forward to this part at all.
After I returned home, we got our selves organised and then
it was off to Albany AGAIN. This time we were off to Rainbow Wreckers to pick
up a spare tyre for our trailer, pay the stamp duty for the Getz and have the
window tint installed.
Once the car was with the tinters we hiked it through the
centre of town. I feel like I know the ins and outs of this place quite well
now and had no trouble navigating through the streets. Moving from one end of
town to the other with ease.
We had sushi for lunch and then returned to the car. We had
a little wait and then it was time to head back to Denmark. Dad was in and Yogi
was nonplussed about our return.
The afternoon was spent readying ourselves for our departure
tomorrow as our mail from Perth arrived today. Paul began packing up our things
in the car while I attacked our freezer that was like a winter wonderland.
Hopefully it will work a little better now.
I took some time out watching the tv before we had dinner
and then took the dog for an evening walk. We made it to the river mouth this
time. The wind had disappeared, making for a perfect evening to enjoy being
outside. Many were fishing, as the pale lilac sky and almost full moon dazzled
the onlookers.
By the time we had made our way back, the dog was completely
spent and Dad was heading to bed, with us to follow shortly behind him.
