Tuesday 19 December
Denmark
The windy and wet weather continued throughout the night. At times the wind rocked the van quite violently, but we remained in place. We were awake at 6am, still not quite on WA time. Yogi had been restless through the night, moving about and then snoring, so I had been conscious of his presence
We decided to get up at 615am, heading to the house where all was quiet and then deciding on an early morning walk to Poison Point with Yogi. It was still very grey outside and there was a slight drizzle about.
When we returned, Dad was off to work. We joined Mum in the house having breakfast. I used Dad’s computer to try and sort the photos I have taken during the last 6 weeks. I was keen to get them into folders, so that there was one less thing I would need to do on return. Unfortunately his computer is so slow, I didn’t get through everything.
We went with Mum into town for a wander around and to pick up a few things. I saw Heidi, an old school friend in the street, so we stopped for a quick chat, then enjoyed a quick bakery treat. We continued the wander to IGA before leaving Mum to return home, while we enjoyed the opportunity to walk back with the dog. The weather was still hanging in there, but we managed to get back unscathed.
We hung out at the house, having lunch. Paul returned for a rest and I got busy making scones, which I have been craving for a while and Paul gleefully reminding me that I would make them on return.
With the jobs done, all that was left was to wait for the rest of the family to join us. Yogi heralded their arrival just before 3pm and we got busy unpacking them all. We retreated to the house to hang out and catch up, enjoying the warm scones.
Paul and I went for a walk with the dog, making it to Poison Point but not down to the water, as there was a large puddle we weren't going to cross. We returned to the house, Paul chatting to Jaden as we made it back.
We spent the evening chatting and then sat down to a delicious roast pork meal, oh how I have missed a good roast dinner. We were even treated to Mum's apple crumble, yum. I set about getting the dishes washed and then it was time to sit back and take it easy, before retreating to the van.
