Day 247 - Friday 1 September - Checking out the Natural Bridge

Day 247
Friday
1 September 2017 – Started my next novel “Elizabeth is Missing” by Emma Healy, I am expecting this one to be a but heart wrenching but hopefully uplifting also.

Bonogin - Springbrook National Park - Nerang - Robina

Another lazy start to the day, though my head was clear after having a quiet evening I was still feeling somewhat tired. We heard Kirsty out and around the paddock as she had lessons to conduct in her equestrian arena.
We eventually pulled ourselves out of bed, sorted ourselves out and put the washing on. Scott came out feeling a little shady. He and Paul went off to check the yabbie nets but came back empty handed.
We stood watching Kirsty given a lesson and chatting to her husband and Scott for a bit before thinking about heading out. We put the washing out and then packed up our lunch and headed to Springbrook National Park.
We had attempted to do this run last week but were foiled by a road closure, so today we drove to Nerang and then followed the road and the signs out to the park.

We parked and then went for a walk through the green forest, large birds nest and staghorn ferns clung to the trees high above us. We followed the walkway to a number of viewing platforms where we could see the water cascading away and then as we moved further down the path, the Natural Bridge in which the water falls through to the pool below.

It was a pretty spot and worth the trek out.
We returned to the car and then drove back to a nearby park to have our lunch and enjoy the spring sunshine.

Following lunch, we returned to Nerang to pick up required groceries before making our way to Robina station to return our train cards and receive our deposit back.
Just after 3pm we were back at the van and packing our bits away. Paul wasn’t feeling the best, so he was straight into the meds we had with us. I sat about going through the photos and putting up things online. Meanwhile Paul did his reviews from yesterday.
When he was done, he went off to hang out with Scott while I continued my work for another 30min. I joined the others out the back for a drink before Kirsty and Scott had to get themselves ready to head out for dinner with the family.
We returned to the van and took it easy for the evening. We had a quick and easy meal and then settled in for the night.
