Day 265

Grafton – Nymboida
I was glad to wake up this morning and feel a fair bit
better. We had heard Glenn and Cheryl leave for work at 7am and Sarah and Dylan
just before 8am. I read my book as Paul continued to doze before we finally got
out and wet for a shower.
We returned to the van for breakfast and to plan our day
before heading into the yard to say hello to the animals. BJ, the shire horse,
was up in the paddock and eager to say hello.
I wandered into the dogs’ yard so that I could take some
other photos of Neville and Aisla. It was a bit of a circus with Dakoda racing
around, but she was happy to hang with Paul when he joined me. Trying to take
photos of the little dogs was no mean feat.
When I was done we took off in the car for Grafton, needing
to find a chemist and Aldi. We did a walk through the main shopping strip
finding both before making our way to the large shopping centre for further
items.
We stopped for fuel on the way to BCF and then we were able
to finally head to our chosen destination, Nymboida, home to the museum of
interesting things, this was set up by Russel Crowe in 2010, after he bought
the old pub that it is attached to it.
The town is only about 25min from Grafton and is really in
the middle of nowhere. There is nothing else of interest on the main street,
which is a shame, especially as the pub was shut!
It seemed we weren’t the only ones disappointed at its indefinite
closure, plenty pulled up read the sign and left. We did the same. With nothing
else to see here, we returned home to the van for lunch instead.
The afternoon was spent lazily hanging in the van and
catching up on computer stuff that I had neglected for the past few days. As
the van heated up, we decided to hang out in the house where it was far cooler.
4pm and the Dylan and Sarah made an appearance before
ducking into town and soon after Cheryl and Glenn were home. We chatted as they
went about their chores and organising the animals.
We kept ourselves busy with the TV game shows and then the
news, before Glenn joined us and soon after Cheryl. We ordered Chinese for dinner to say thanks
or putting us up and made our way in to town to pick it up.
We all sat about enjoying the delicious meal and chatting
about things we should see and do as we continue to travel through NSW. It was
a lovely way to finish up our time with them.
We said our goodbyes at 9pm and retreated to the van,
jumping into bed and reading our books before lights out.
