Monday 11 June 2012 - Happy Birthday Paul & Sven
Day 60 and 99 to go
With the extra drinks last
night I didn’t sleep so well and was awake with the dry horrors. By the time morning
arrived I was still tired but with our plans to spend some time with Charlotte
I had to get out. The weather outside didn’t provide any motivation, as it was
grey, miserable and drizzly.
We had breakfast and rang
home. There were plenty of birthday messages for Paul. It was great to hear
from everyone.
We did a quick trip to the
shop for some groceries and returned home with a clean car as there was
flooding on the road. I was glad we were in a car with a little higher ground
clearance.
Chell had finally arrived so
we had a quick chat with him before heading to Dario’s to catch up with
Charlotte. We drove through Willian as Chell said the pond was flooded. We
drove the car through it and then turned around and came back through it. We
really needed a boat!
Charlotte was ready and
waiting for us. Liam wasn’t able to join us as he was having his chest waxed in
readiness for their trip to Morocco. Boy did Paul have fun with that. Damn army
boys.
We got back in the car and
she directed us to Whellan Garden where I could do some shopping. It was only a
short trip. We found parking in the undercover that was needed as it was still
raining.
Paul was shown where the pub
was and Charlotte and I got to it. I was on a mission, as I needed a new pair
of jeans and a belt. Fortunately the first place we went into had what I was
looking for and in my size and length. With the jeans found we then browsed the
other shops, I managed to steer Charlotte away from buying more clothes, shoes
or bathers. We then went to find Paul.
He was very surprised when we
turned up so soon a he hadn’t finished his first beer. We decided to have the
lunch special that Charlotte shouted. Thank you. We then returned to the car
and drove back to Dario’s where we left Charlotte to complete her packing as
she is off to Morocco tomorrow for 10 days. Lots of sun lucky thing.
We were back at Chell’s by
3pm where we flaked out on the couch watching TV. Chell had his nose back in
his books. We caught up on emails and Facebook. Chell went to visit Maisie. We
watched the next Euro match. England v France.
When Chell returned I put
together a quick dinner from the leftovers of yesterday’s lunch. We continued
to watch the soccer that again ended in a 1 all draw.
With us all soccered out we channel
surfed for some time watching the comedy Bennidorm and a doco called Day in
England that was very interesting. When
the show finished Paul and I called it a night.
