Day 55 and 104 to go
Well that has to be the laziest day we have had since before leaving Perth. We woke at 9am with blue sky poking through. Chell was already up with his nose in the books studying up for his Airline Captains course. Sounds like too much hard work to me. :)
We eventually wandered down stairs and made ourselves breakfast while enjoying the view of the backyard.
I did some checking of things on the net while we faffed about. Paul rang Tina and had a chat with her before ringing Benny as well to find out the latest. We then Skyped Damon and Katie and had a long chat. It was great to catch up with everyone.
We had to do some searching on the net for temporary car insurance so we can drive around Chell's little Suzuki jeep. It really was a bit of a joke trying to find a deal that didn't feel like an absolute ripoff. In the end Chell was able to locate some for 150pounds! We didn't really have much choice so we had to accept this deal.
While doing this we received our GP tickets for the weekend after next at Silverstone. So glad they arrived with no real hassles.
Chell was busy getting himself ready to head off to work. I then Skyped Brad and spoke to him and Mum and Dad. We even got to see Yogi who is having a ball in Denmark. He is not going to want to return home in any great hurry. Spoiled pooch. We were glad to hear our final 2 boxes of stuff arrived today, much to Jack's delight who thought they would be his to open. Ha Ha. Such a cutie.
Paul and I decided we would go to Cambridge tomorrow with Dario, unfortunately Charlotte can't make it as she is working. I think the next few days will be spent doing day trips to places that are easily accessible.
I also bought tickets to Jersey Boys in the West End for next week, so we will probably train into London and spend the day wandering around. Hopefully the eye will be open this time around.
At 2.30pm Chell had to head off to work so we waved him off before we got into the Suzuki and drove to Willian where we stopped at the post office for a box and bubble wrap. With a pub next door we also stopped for a pint.
We then meandered back to Chell's stopping for fuel on the way.
We watched some of the French Open and I read the local rag that had been delivered, only to read that the Queen is coming to this little village next week for a meet and greet, so I will wander down and see if I can catch a glimpse. Nice of her to come and see me.
I then rang Aunty Ruth to let her know we had made it safely to England and that we would see her soon. I am looking forward to catching up with the whole family shortly.
We continued to vege about and watch the news before organising dinner. I did a search for transport from Amsterdam to Frankfurt eventually finding a cheap flight on KLM that we booked. We hope Chell is the pilot on that one! This is your captain speaking...ha ha ha
We settled in and watched Pirates of the Caribbean 3. I am still struggling to deal with the brightness of the evening. It is now 9pm and feels about 5pm. I love it.
