Monday 18 June 2012 - On
the Road to Instow
Day 66 and 93 to go
Another morning and another
9am start. We had a great fry up breakfast this morning while we watched TV. We
then packed up a small case of our things and packed the car. We said our
goodbyes to Chell and then were on our way at 10.30am.
We followed the major
highways to head south-west. There was a
little traffic while we were on the M25 but it didn’t hinder our journey too
much.
After a couple of hours we
pulled into a highway café where we had HJ’s and then filled up with fuel and
then we were back on the road for another couple of hours.
The views were beautiful and
green. We then passed around Bristol and over a long bridge and continued on
our way. The weather had remained fine and in places it was quite sunny,
however we could see threatening clouds and as we came into Devon it began to
rain.
At 3pm we were pulling into
Sharon & John’s home in Instow. The weather had cleared up. We sat and had a tea and caught up with
Sharon for a bit and then decided to go for a walk along the beachfront.
It was so lovely looking out
over the bay and watching the dogs running on the beach. We ducked into the
Wayfearer pub for a quick pint and then we continued along the front and past
the cricket ground where they were playing a match. We followed the Tarka trail
back along the back street and into the centre of town before following the
beach back to Sharon’s for 5pm.
Shortly after John returned
home from work and we again sat in the lounge chatting before having a
delicious dinner. Paul arrived with his dog Timmy and we sat chatting for a
bit. I then spoke to Aunty Ruth and organised to catch up with her tomorrow.
We retired again to the
lounge and watched the Croatia v Spain game.
