Where are the storms?

Saturday 16 June 2012  - 50 year storm just a puff
Day 65 and 94 to go
Ohhhh a late night does not agree and when 9am arrived I was still in bed and not wanting to move. Paul got out and sorted and I felt guilty so I crawled out too and then made myself comfy on the couch while I ate breakfast.
We went to bed expecting the night to be quite rough as a large storm was predicted, but there was nothing over night and this morning while grey in places and a little blowy wasn’t particularly menacing.
It took a while for us to get motivated. Chell decided that he would stay home and do some more study so we grabbed our things and got on the road at 11am. Our first stop was Letchworth so Paul could buy some welly boots to wear at the track. We then made our way to Silverstone an hour away.
We arrived at 1pm and made our way through the main gates and straight into the middle of the track. We were in search of a Silverstone Track pin. The first stop wasn’t much help but the second one had small button pins so we bought those.

We then walked to the bus pickup spot and sat on the bus as it drove around the circuit. We were able to get a great view from the second level.
After completing the lap we wandered out of the centre and into the Luffield stand to watch the MotoGP qualifying. It was starting to get quite windy and threatening but where we were sitting it was remaining dry. The spot we sat in offered great views of many of the corners of the track and I was able to get a few good photos.

At the end of qualifying the Spanish rider Alvaro Bautista made pole, followed by the American Ben Spies and in 3rd was Casey. With that complete we moved to the Woodcott stand and watched some of the Moto 2 qualifying.  We didn’t hang around for the finish and decided to head home at 4pm beating the crowds.
We stopped at the shops on the way back picking up groceries before heading home. We caught up with Chell then sat around watching TV and checking the net.
I cooked dinner while Paul checked various web sites for cheap parcel post. We weren’t having much luck unfortunately.

The night seemed to disappear quite quickly and when 10.30pm came around it was time to head to bed.
